TRIDATU PHILOSOPHY

Tri Datu or Tridatu is a composition of threads with deep philosophical value believed by Hindus to have power. Tri means three, and Datu means element or color.

The three colors of Tri Datu threads also symbolize the Purity of God in its manifestation as Tri Murti:

1. God Brahma (creator), color Red,
2. God Vishnu (preserver), color White, and
3. God Iswara/Shiva (destroyer), color Black.

In addition, Tri Datu threads symbolize the Tri Kona, namely:
1. Birth,
2. Life, and
3. Death.

After birth and currently living, and then death. The use of Tri Datu threads is expected to always remind us of the greatness of God as the creator, preserver, and destroyer.
