ONGKARA

Ongkara=Omkara is a sacred symbol in Hinduism. In the Upanishads, Ongkara or Omkara is called Niyasa which means a tool to help us concentrate towards Hyang Widhi, and worshipers get the vibration of the holiness of Hyang Widhi. Niyasa or other means such as offerings, shrines, temples, etc. As a sacred symbol, Niyasa should be used or placed in a proper location because it is sanctified.

The treatment of niyasa/sacred symbols in an improper way may be due to ignorance (awidya) or intentionally (rajasika). Why is one of the niyasa in the form of Ongkara/Omkara?
