The Pis Bolong is a type of currency that holds significant meaning and value in Bali, often used in ceremonies from Dewa Yadnya to Bhuta Yadnya. Its round, flat shape with a square hole in the center gives it a unique charm as a ceremonial accessory.

TRIDATU PHILOSOPHY

Tridatu or Tridhatu is a thread combination with deep philosophical significance in Hindu belief. “Tri” means three, and “Datu” means element or color.

The three colors of Tridatu represent the sacredness of god in its manifestation as Tri Murti:

1. God Brahma (creator), represented by the color red,
2. God Vishnu (preserver), represented by the color white, and
3. God Iswara/Shiva (destroyer), represented by the color black.

Additionally, Tridatu symbolizes the Tri Kona, namely: Birth, Life, and Death. It signifies the cycle of life – birth, current existence, and eventual passing away. Wearing the Tridatu thread reminds us of the greatness of God as the creator, preserver, and destroyer.
