TRIDATU PHILOSOPHY

Tri Datu or Tridatu, Tridhatu is a combination of threads with profound philosophical value believed by Hindus to possess power. Tri means three and Datu means element or color.

The three colors of Tri Datu represent the purity of God in the form of Tri Murti:

1. Lord Brahma (creator), represented by the color Red,
2. Lord Vishnu (preserver), represented by the color White, and
3. Lord Iswara/Shiva (destroyer), represented by the color Black.

Additionally, Tri Datu threads symbolize the Tri Kona, which are:

2. Life, and
3. Death.
