TRIDATU PHILOSOPHY

Tri Datu or Tridatu is a combination of threads with profound philosophical values believed by Hindus to possess power. Tri means three and Datu means elements or colors.

The three colors of Tri Datu threads also symbolize the purity of God in His manifestation as Tri Murti:

1. Lord Brahma (creator), color: Red
2. Lord Vishnu (preserver), color: White
3. Lord Iswara/Shiva (destroyer), color: Black

Moreover, the Tri Datu threads are a symbol of Tri Kona, which signifies: Birth, Life, and Death. It represents the cycle of birth, current life, and then death. By wearing Tri Datu threads, we are encouraged to always remember the greatness of God as the supreme creator, preserver, and destroyer.
