TRIDATU PHILOSOPHY

Tri Datu or Tridatu, Tridhatu is a composition of threads with deep philosophical values believed by Hindus to possess power. Tri means three and Datu means element or color.

The three colors of Tri Datu threads also symbolize the Holiness of God in his manifestation as Tri Murti:
1. Lord Brahma (creator), in red color,
2. Lord Vishnu (preserver), in white color, and
3. Lord Ishwara/Shiva (destroyer), in black color.

In addition, Tri Datu threads also symbolize Tri Kona, which are:
1. Birth,
2. Life, and
3. Death.
