OWL
In Greek and Roman mythology, the owl is symbolized as a representation of intelligence, education, and magic. The owl also became the symbol of Goddess Athena, who is the goddess of wisdom, likely due to its sharp vision.
SUNFLOWER
Resembling the sun and always facing towards it, the sunflower is associated with the myths of Apollo and Clytie. Clytie, enamored by Apollo, transformed into a flower that forever gazes at the god she admired, following the direction of his chariot as it moves until the end of time. From this myth, the sunflower is considered a symbol of eternal admiration and loyalty.
ANCHOR
Due to its ability to maintain stability of a boat in the midst of a storm, the anchor is seen as a symbol of fermeté, representing calmness, hope, and loyalty.
SHIP’S WHEEL
The ship’s wheel symbolizes victory.
SEA STAR
The sea star can be interpreted as high aspirations or hopes for the creation of stars of the sea in the future.
TRIDATU PHILOSOPHY
Tri Datu or Tridatu, Tridhatu is a composition of threads with deep philosophical value believed by Hindus to possess power. Tri means three and Datu means elements or colors. The three colors of Tri Datu threads also symbolize the holiness of God in his manifestation as Tri Murti:
1. Lord Brahma (creator), depicted in Red,
2. Lord Vishnu (preserver), depicted in White, and
3. Lord Iswara/Shiva (destroyer), depicted in Black.
In addition, the Tri Datu thread symbolizes Tri Kona, namely:
1. Birth,
2. Life, and
3. Death.
After birth and now life, and ultimately death. The use of Tri Datu threads is hoped to always remind us of the greatness of God as the supreme creator, preserver, and destroyer.
P.S.: The Tridatu accessories we produce are Balinese cultural accessories, without any specific ceremonial or religious elements, and are free for use by people of all ages and beliefs.
