TRIDATU PHILOSOPHY

Tridatu, also known as Tridhatu, is a combination of three threads with deep philosophical meaning believed to hold supernatural powers in Hinduism. Tri symbolizes three and Datu represents elements or colors. The three colors of the Tridatu threads symbolize the purity of the divine manifestation as Tri Murti:
1. Brahma (creator) in red,
2. Vishnu (preserver) in white, and
3. Iswara/Shiva (destroyer) in black.

Moreover, the Tridatu threads represent the Tri Kona concept of

2. Life, and
3. Death.
